Basics of Business Law
Course Description
Business law, sometimes called ‘commercial’ or ‘mercantile’ law, governs financial transactions by convention, agreement or national or international law. We begin by studying the nature of law, particularly those applicable in the United Kingdom. We also outline European Community Law before examining specific regulations, directives and decisions. We establish the benefits of understanding these important pieces of legislation.
The course explores the English court system and explains how to analyse information about civil court proceedings. We simplify the complexities of agency, consumer and contract business law and provide practical ways to handle disputes. The course also examines the tort laws governing civil lawsuits and answers questions like ‘what is the three-stage test?’ and ‘how can one identify a breach of duty?’.
We cover the primary laws of the UK and explain how they apply to your business. We outline precise rules and structural foundations and provide practical explanations so you can confidently use them in your workplace. This course forms a foundation on which to build the necessary understanding of the UK’s laws, legislation, and duties surrounding business. Sign up to meet your tax and legal obligations while taking advantage of employee and contract law.
