English Language - Talk about Food and Drink (Elementary level)

Course Description

This English course takes you through the grammatical rules governing countable and uncountable nouns in singular and plural forms and then relates these useful rules to conversations about food and drink. We explain how to use articles and collocations with nouns. We also break down how to form simple ‘question and answer’ sentences using singular and plural nouns. The course also explores the use of ‘measurement nouns’ in phrases regarding food using the suffixes 's' and 'es'.

The course then shows you when to use the indefinite adjectives 'some' and 'any' in sentences that include nouns describing food. We teach you how to use numbers relating to quantity as well as how and when to use quantifiers (like ‘a few’) to discuss food. We provide new English vocabulary and grammar related to ordering food and drinks, a useful skill that can help you gain confidence in your new language. Finally, you will learn why we use modal verbs and contractions when making requests in English.
