Course Description

This course will rapidly increase your vocabulary and ability to converse in English, so you will be confident speaking the language. The first section of this course discusses cleaning supplies and explains that you can use certain words as nouns or verbs. For example, a mop is an object (noun), but you can use it as a verb to 'mop (verb) the floor.' Although these nuances can be confusing, this course will take you through each so you will understand everything clearly.

The second and third sections discuss grammar rules using the new words you learned to help your understanding. First, we review both positive and negative imperatives and discuss the function of direct object pronouns and their placement in sentences. Next, we introduce phrasal verbs and explain their meaning and function. The most common phrasal verbs used in the home are 'turn on,' 'pick up,' 'clean up,' and so on. We end this section by outlining where to place direct objects in phrasal verbs.

Finally, we help you to polish your listening and reading comprehension skills. Our 'Resources' section includes exercises to help you practice English, and our video tutorials show you how to correctly pronounce these new words as you try them out at home. English is a powerful global language, so enroll in this course to improve your English skills and learn how to give and take instructions related to household cleaning.
