People Management Skills in the Workplace
Course Description
This management training course begins by explaining how to develop and maintain constructive professional relationships. We examine communication scholar Mark Knapps’ model of the different stages of relationship development in the workplace. We then explore the fundamentals of what William Schultz called ‘relationship orientation behaviour’ (FIRO-B).
The course then introduces you to the behaviours associated with inclusion, affection and ‘control needs’. We lay out the alternate patterns of developing healthy relationships in the workplace. We study the concept of forgiveness and consider the role it plays in the pursuit of an organization's goals and objectives.
This leadership course equips you with the skills needed to achieve ‘organizational forgiveness’ and maintain morale and comity in the workplace. We explain how managers and employees can work together to rid the office of negativity and conflict in order to boost productivity. You will also learn about fostering healthy interpersonal relationships among your colleagues. This course suits anyone who wants to take a management track and offers the kind of leadership training that can help you advance your career.
